An important maintenance item that is frequently overlooked is tire rotation and balance.
Your tires should be rotated every 3,000 to 5,000 miles and balanced every other time, or if a vibration is felt through the steering wheel. Properly maintaining the tire pressure and rotating and balancing the tires will reduce tire wear dramatically.
